Official launch of the Riverina Murray and Murray Region Destination Management Plans

The Riverina Murray and Murray Region Tourism Destination Management Plans (DMP) have been officially launched! Urban Enterprise were pleased to prepare both DMPs.

The Riverina Murray and Murray Region Tourism DMPs were undertaken to drive growth in the region’s visitor economy and ensure that tourism continues to add value to the social fabric and ecology of the Riverina and Murray sub-regions.

The preparation of the DMPs included extensive primary research, policy analysis and stakeholder consultation in order to understand the key priorities for tourism development across the regions.

Both DMPs identified strategic development themes and priority tourism projects that strengthen the product offering, drive visitation, reinforce the regional brand, as well as add value to the regional economy.

Already, more than $11 million in funding has been announced to create new tourism precincts along the Murray River from Albury to Tocumwal, as well as $6.7 million to complete stage 2 of the Wagga riverside precinct upgrade.
