Proposed Beechworth to Yackandandah Mountain Bike Trail Receives Million Dollar Boost

Indigo Shire’s proposed Beechworth to Yackandandah mountain bike trail has secured a $1 million grant through the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund.

Urban Enterprise completed the Scoping Study for the project, which included potential market analysis, varied investment scenarios, concept plans and an economic impact assessment.

The track will be a high quality formed and free flowing cross-country trail and will complement the existing Yack Tracks and Beechworth Mountain Bike Park to create one of Victoria’s leading mountain bike destinations.

According to Urban Enterprise estimates, the trail is set to attract 12,500 visitors per annum, create 34 FTE jobs and inject $5.18 million into North East Victoria.

The project has an overall cost of $2 million, with Council committing to a $1 million contribution over three years to match the grant funding.

Urban Enterprise congratulates the Shire on receiving the funding and is thrilled to have been a part of the process.
