Shepparton Economic Development, Tourism and Events Strategy

Client: Greater Shepparton City Council


The Greater Shepparton Economic Development, Tourism and Events Strategy aimed to identify opportunities that led to building and diversifying the local economy, assist in building on Council’s events portfolio and boosting tourism and overnight stays within the region.

The Strategy intended to provide an achievable, evidence-based plan for the future while responding to the challenges and opportunities presented by the local, regional, and international conditions.

The preparation of the Strategy was informed by economic research and analysis. Specifically identifying key macro-economic trends impacting Greater Shepparton, a local economic and business profile, trends in tourism and visitation, and analysis of the events calendar, event visitation, and opportunities.

The Strategy was adopted by Council.
