Plans for Revitalisation of Central Deborah Gold Mine in Bendigo

Plans have been revealed for the $6 million redevelopment of the Central Deborah Gold Mine in Bendigo. Urban Enterprise completed the Master Plan and Business Case in 2017.

Urban Enterprise provided an assessment of Bendigo Heritage Attractions (BHA) key attractions with the revitalisation of the Central Deborah Gold Mine identified as the number one priority project and progressed to concept planning and business case development.

Urban Enterprise identified a number of opportunities for the revitalisation of the Central Deborah Gold Mine including establishing the site as the hub of BHA’s attractions and Bendigo’s gold rush story through a new interpretive centre, new surface level activities, creating capacity to host events and functions on site, a new food and beverage offer and facilitating new night time experiences. These opportunities were translated into a Master Plan designed by Cumulus Design Studio.

The project has subsequently been identified as a major project in Plan Greater Bendigo and will seek Government funding in 2018.
